Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
— 2 Peter 1:4
Hello, dear friend. I want to ask you something today: if someone asked you to name five promises God has made to you specifically, could you do it? Not promises you’ve vaguely heard about — but ones you’ve personally claimed, written down, and built your hope on? If the answer is no, you are not alone. And today is the perfect day to change that.
Peter calls them “exceeding great and precious promises.” That phrase is intentionally extravagant. Not small. Not generic. Exceeding great — surpassing what we could manufacture on our own. And precious — of great worth, deeply valued. These are not fine print guarantees. They are the crown jewels of the Christian life, freely given to every woman who belongs to God.

Promises That Speak Directly to Your Season
Scripture is filled with promises that speak with stunning precision to the life of a single Christian woman. Here are just a few worth holding onto:
He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) — a promise that makes every quiet Friday night feel less empty when you truly hold it.
He works all things together for your good (Romans 8:28) — a promise that reframes every disappointment as part of a purposeful plan.
He gives wisdom generously to those who ask (James 1:5) — a promise that means you are never without direction for the decisions of your life.
His plans for you are for peace and a future (Jeremiah 29:11) — a promise that your current chapter is not the whole story.
How to Make His Promises Your Own
A promise you don’t know can’t sustain you. Here’s how to make God’s promises personal and practical in your daily life: search for promises in Scripture that speak to your current struggle. Write them on index cards. Say them aloud. Pray them back to God. And when doubt creeps in, return to them like a soldier returns to their orders — with conviction.
Remember: His promises are unshakeable — and they become a weapon in your hands when you know them well enough to wield them. Don’t let them sit untouched in a book. Let them become the foundation you stand on every single day.
Reflection Prompt
Open your Bible today and find five promises from God that speak directly to your current season. Write them in your journal with your name inserted into each one. Then choose one to memorize this week. Let it be the verse you return to every time fear, doubt, or loneliness tries to take ground.
