Why Prayer Is the Most Powerful Thing You Can Do Today

The Best Thing About What God Is Teaching You Is That You Can't Keep It to Yourself

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

— Matthew 28:19

Hello, dear friend. When you hear the word “evangelism,” what comes to mind? For a long time, my mental image was someone standing on a street corner with a megaphone. That image made me want to quietly disappear. But over the years, I’ve come to understand that the Great Commission is not primarily about volume — it’s about faithfulness. And faithfulness looks different for every woman, in every season, in every sphere of influence.

Jesus’ commission in Matthew 28:19 was given to ordinary people — not professional clergy, not the most educated or eloquent. Just people who had encountered Him and couldn’t stay quiet about it. You are one of those people. The things God has shown you this month — about His Word, His faithfulness, His comfort — are not just for you. They are seeds meant to be planted in other hearts.

Your Story Is Your Greatest Tool

People can debate theology. They can argue about doctrine. But they cannot argue with your story. When you share what God has done in your life — how He sustained you through loneliness, how His Word met you in the darkest hour, how His peace surpassed your understanding — you give someone else permission to believe that God could do the same for them.

As a single Christian woman, your testimony is uniquely powerful in a world that says singleness is something to escape. When people see you thriving in your faith during this season, you are preaching a sermon that no pulpit could deliver.

Everyday Ways to Share the Good News

  • Share what you're learning: When God gives you an insight from Scripture, text it to a friend, post it on social media, or bring it up over coffee. You don't need to preach — just share what has moved you.

  • Invite someone into your world: Invite a coworker to your small group, a neighbor to church, or a friend to a Bible study. The most effective evangelism is often an invitation to something you're already doing.

  • Pray for one person by name: Ask God to give you one specific person to pray for and share your faith with this season. Focused, intentional prayer for someone's soul is one of the most powerful things you can do.

Reflection Prompt

Write in your journal today about one specific thing God has taught you this month that you haven’t yet shared with anyone. Then write the name of one person you sense God placing on your heart. Pray for them by name and ask God to open a natural door to share what He’s been doing in your life.
