The Serenity of God’s Love in Singleness

In His Hands: A Journey of Remembering

"I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old." (Psalm 77:11)

This verse beautifully captures the essence of remembering God’s faithfulness through our life's journey. For many of us, particularly single Christian women navigating the wait for marriage, it’s easy to become consumed by our current circumstances. Yet, taking the time to look back can rejuvenate our spirits and remind us of God’s unwavering guidance.

A Personal Story

Not too long ago, I found myself overwhelmed with feelings of discontentment and impatience. The longing for companionship and a loving partner seemed to overshadow all the blessings around me. One quiet evening, I pulled out my journal, which has always served as a safe space for my thoughts and prayers. As I flipped through the pages filled with prayers and reflections from the past years, I was struck by how many times God had shown up in my life. There were moments of heartbreak, job changes, unexpected friendships, and even opportunities that seemed daunting but led to personal growth. Surprisingly, I found clarity in the chaos.

Spiritual Application

Reflecting on our past allows us to recognize the patterns of God's provision in our lives. It's essential to consider the following:

  1. Look Back: Take time this week to recall specific instances where God guided you. Write them down or share them with a friend.

  2. Acknowledge His Wonders: Spend a moment in gratitude for the answered prayers and lessons learned.

  3. Share Your Journey: Sometimes, recounting your stories with others can inspire both you and them. It strengthens your faith journeys as a community.

When we remember, we build a foundation of hope and resilience that helps us thrive in our singleness. Remembering what God has already done encourages us to trust Him for what lies ahead. Each story is a testament to His love and care, assuring us we are never alone in our journey.

As you meditate today, ask yourself: What reminders of God’s faithfulness can I carry with me into this season of singleness? How can these memories encourage my faith in the waiting?
