"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17-19
Finding Stability in Love

As I sat in my favorite café, the aroma of fresh coffee wafting through the air, I noticed a woman who seemed deeply immersed in a prayer journal. The peaceful expression on her face drew my attention. She was alone, yet she appeared content, rooted in something far greater than her circumstances. This moment reminded me of our journey as single Christian women. It’s all too easy to feel adrift, especially in a society that places value on relationships and marriage. Yet, this woman was a picture of someone anchored in God's love.
God's Love: Our Anchor
Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 reveals a beautiful truth: being "rooted and grounded in love" allows us to comprehend the depths of Christ’s love. It isn’t just about romantic love; it’s about a profound, abiding love that stabilizes us in every chapter of life, including this season of singleness.
When we anchor ourselves in God's love, we can thrive in our current circumstances. Instead of feeling inadequate or lonely, we can draw strength from knowing that we are cherished daughters of the King. Here are a few practical ways to remain anchored in love:
Dive into the Word: Spend time in Scripture daily. Let God’s promises fill your heart with hope.
Engage in Community: Connect with other single women of faith. Share your journey, pray together, and encourage one another.
Practice Gratitude: Each day, jot down things you’re grateful for. This practice shifts your focus to the abundant blessings in your life.
It’s important to remember that God’s love is wide, long, high, and deep. As we grow in understanding this love, we find a sense of security and purpose. Whether he has yet to reveal your future spouse or you are walking a path of singlehood, know that God is using this time to cultivate your character and deepen your faith.
Reflection Prompt
Take a moment to reflect on how you can anchor yourself in God's love today. What practical steps will you take to deepen this relationship? Consider journaling about this journey and how you can trust God more fully as you wait on Him.
