"Be still, and know that I am God..." This powerful verse from Psalm 46:10 reminds us of the importance of stillness and the need to pause in our busy lives. As single Christian women waiting for the right partner, the world around us often seems loud and overwhelming. Between work, social obligations, and the pressures of the dating scene, it can be easy to get lost in the noise.

Let me share a personal story with you. Several months ago, I found myself feeling weighed down by the excitement of wedding planning among friends while I was still in a season of waiting. I could feel my spirit becoming weary, and it was in that moment that I decided I needed to recharge. I set aside a Saturday to retreat to a nearby park, armed only with my journal, my Bible, and a deep desire for peace.
Finding Stillness in God's Presence
As I sat on a blanket under the shade of a gentle willow tree, I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air. The sound of rustling leaves and distant laughter filled the air, but I focused on a different sound—my heart's quiet wrestling with God. In that stillness, I began to pray and unload the burdens I had been carrying. The more I prayed, the more I felt God drawing close, reminding me that I am not alone in this waiting period. He is right beside me, guiding my steps.
Through this intentional time of prayer and stillness, I was reminded that thriving in the season of singleness requires us to recharge our spirits. It's a gentle reminder that we don't have to wait until marriage to experience fulfillment in our lives. God has so much to teach us in this precious season.
Spiritual Application
Here’s how you can recharge your spirit, just as I did:
Set Aside Time: Dedicate specific moments each week just for you and God. Quality time in prayer can bring clarity and peace to your mind and soul.
Practice Stillness: Find a quiet spot—whether in nature, your home, or a quiet coffee shop—where you can pause and allow God's presence to envelop you.
Embrace the Wait: Instead of viewing your single status as a limitation, see it as a gift. This is a time for growth, self-discovery, and deeper faith.
Stillness allows us to hear God's voice amid the chaos. Let Him remind you of His plans for your life, which extend far beyond marriage. He has a purpose for you in this season, so don’t rush through it.
To reflect, ask yourself: How can I incorporate moments of stillness and prayer into my week, and what insights am I seeking from God during this time of waiting?
