Is Anything Too Hard for the LORD? Embracing Faith Like Sarah

In Genesis 18:14, we find a profound question posed by the Lord: "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" This verse speaks volumes about the nature of God and His promises. As we reflect on Sarah's story, we discover not just the hardships of waiting but also the beauty of trusting in God's perfect timing.

Sarah's Waiting Game

Sarah’s life was marked by waiting and disappointment. Married to Abraham, she longed for a child, yet as the years passed, hope began to fade. Have you ever felt as Sarah did, in a season of waiting, wondering if your dreams will ever come true? It can be tough to hold onto faith when circumstances seem bleak.

But as we see in Sarah's life, waiting can be a transformative experience. God had a plan that was far greater than she could imagine. When the time was right, God promised Abraham that Sarah would bear a son. In this moment of divine reassurance, she learned that God's timing is not our timing.

Embracing the Journey

While waiting might be hard, it can also be a time of preparation and growth.

Here are a few practical steps to help us thrive in our current season:

  • Prayer: Maintain an ongoing conversation with God. Pour out your heart and seek His guidance.

  • Stay Engaged: Don’t isolate yourself in your wait. Engage with your friends and family. Join a group of like-minded women who can support you.

  • Serve Others: Look for opportunities to give back. Sometimes, focusing on others can bring joy and fulfillment.

  • Reflect on God’s Promises: Write down or meditate on scripture that reminds you of God’s faithfulness. This can be a powerful tool to combat doubt.

  • Celebrate Small Victories: Acknowledge and appreciate the good things happening in your life right now, no matter how small.

God's Promises Are Sure

Just as God assured Sarah that He would return according to the time of life, we, too, can trust that He will fulfill His promises in our lives. He isn’t idle while we wait; He is working everything together for our good. Faith is often birthed in the tension of waiting.

Reflection: Finding Joy in the Wait

Let us remember that waiting isn't wasted time. It is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with God, to grow in our character, and to prepare us for what He has in store. Like Sarah, may we embrace the journey, knowing that He who promised is faithful.

As we navigate through this season of anticipation, let the question resonate in your heart: "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" The answer is a resounding no. Your dreams and desires are safe in His hands, and in His perfect timing, He will bring them to fruition.

Keep trusting. Keep waiting. And keep believing in the goodness of our God.
