The Bold Yes: Lessons from Rebekah's Decision

In the Waiting Room of Life: Trusting God as a Single Woman

Listen to the Devotional!
"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." - Psalm 27:14
Casting Your Care on Him

Waiting can feel like a heavy, uncertain season, especially for single Christian women who may find themselves longing for answers in various areas of life. There’s a beautiful verse in the Bible that speaks directly to this reality: "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." (Psalm 27:14 KJV).

In our fast-paced world, the waiting room often feels too slow, and it’s tempting to take matters into our own hands. However, as single Christian women, we are called to trust God's timing. When I faced job uncertainty after college graduation, I remember waiting for months just hoping for the right opportunity. Each day felt like an uphill battle, but I kept reminding myself to wait patiently for the Lord’s provision.

During this time of waiting, I learned to lean into my faith. Instead of allowing doubt to creep in, I started spending more time in God’s word and prayer. This shift didn’t eliminate the waiting, but it transformed my heart and provided deep strength. I discovered that my worth didn’t hinge on my job status or relationship status, but it was anchored in who God says I am.

Reflection Prompts

What are you currently waiting on? How can you find joy in that waiting season?

Read Isaiah 40:31 and reflect on how waiting on the Lord renews our strength.

In moments of waiting, remember that God is not idle; He’s working behind the scenes. Waiting is not wasted time; it’s an opportunity for growth. As you wait, focus on cultivating your relationship with God and embracing who He is calling you to be. Trust that He will fulfill His promises in your life - in His perfect timing!
