You Are the Reason God Wrote This Book

Finding Your Complete Self in Him

Finding Wholeness in Him

"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." (Colossians 2:10)

As a single Christian woman, waiting for the right person to come along can sometimes feel isolating. I remember one particular season in my life when I felt the weight of my singleness more than ever. It was the time of year when friends were getting engaged, marriage announcements flooded social media, and I found myself questioning my worth and purpose.

Finding Your Complete Self in Him

One evening, I decided to take a quiet walk in nature to seek clarity. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow through the trees. I took a seat on a bench, opened my Bible, and came across this verse in Colossians. Suddenly, everything shifted. I realized that my completeness doesn’t hinge on my relationship status, but rather on my identity in Christ.

Understanding Your Identity in Christ

It is easy to feel incomplete when you are single. The world tells us we need a partner to feel whole, but scripture paints a different picture. As women of faith, we need to embrace the truth that we are already complete in Him. Jesus is sufficient for all our needs, and that includes our emotional and spiritual needs.

Here are some practical ways to find wholeness in Him while navigating your single season:

  • Deepen Your Relationship with God: Spend time in prayer and scripture study to strengthen your connection with the Lord.

  • Embrace Your Gifts: Use your talents to serve others. Engaging in ministry can provide a sense of purpose.

  • Build Meaningful Friendships: Surround yourself with supportive friends who encourage your faith journey.

  • Serve Your Community: Volunteering can open your eyes to the needs of others and fill your heart with joy.

  • Find Joy in the Journey: Focus on what God is teaching you in this season rather than what you feel is missing.

Reflection and Growth

Being unmarried does not mean being incomplete. Each day is an opportunity to develop a deeper relationship with God and to find joy in the little things. Remember that your worth is not based on your relationship status but on the love that Christ has for you.

Take a moment to reflect on what you feel might be missing in your life. Now, ask yourself how you can bring that feeling to God and allow Him to fill your life with His peace and completeness. Write down one or two things you can do this week to cultivate a deeper relationship with Him.

Single sister, know this: You are complete in Christ. Rejoice in your identity as a beloved daughter of the King!
