The Bold Yes: Lessons from Rebekah's Decision

Finding Strength in Your Singleness

Listen to the Devotional!
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:29-31
Casting Your Care on Him

In a world that often equates value with relationships and romantic partnerships, it is vital for single Christian women to root their identity in Christ alone. The passage from Isaiah reminds us of the boundless strength we can find in Him, especially during seasons of waiting. God sees your heart, your desires, and your struggles. He has not forgotten you.

Imagine a young woman named Sarah. She was in her late twenties and all her friends were entering serious relationships or getting married. Sarah felt the societal pressure and began to question if she was doing something wrong. In her loneliness, she turned to this scripture in Isaiah. As she meditated on it, she realized that her worth didn't depend on her relationship status. Instead, it was in her connection with God that she found renewed strength.

This power to rise above feelings of inadequacy and despair is available to you too. When you feel faint or weary, remind yourself of the promise: Wait upon the Lord. This waiting isn’t passive; it’s an active trust in God’s timing. It means seeking His face, spending time in prayer, and engaging with His Word. The more you learn about God’s character, the more you’ll realize that He has exciting plans for your future.

Reflection Prompts

What does it mean to you to wait on the Lord? How can you cultivate a deeper relationship with Him during this time of singleness?

  1. Write down three ways you can actively seek God’s presence in your life right now.

  2. Identify one area where you feel weak, and pray specifically for God to increase your strength in that area.

As we conclude today’s devotional, remember this: God is not only aware of your season of singleness; He is actively preparing you for your future. Keep investing in your relationship with Him, and trust that He has plans to give you hope and a future, whether single or in a relationship. Keep waiting and watching for the incredible ways He will show up in your life.
