The Bold Yes: Lessons from Rebekah's Decision

Finding Peace in the Present

Listen to the Devotional!
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." - Matthew 6:34
Anchored in Perfect Peace

It's so easy for us, as single women, to live in the "not yet." We might spend hours pondering future paths: Will I meet my husband? How will I handle that promotion? When will I feel truly settled? This constant focus on tomorrow's unknowns can steal the joy and effectiveness of today. Jesus reminds us that the best way to handle the future is to faithfully handle the present. Each day has its own set of blessings, challenges, and divine appointments. When we carry tomorrow's burdens today, we become too weighed down to even notice the grace God has specifically provided for this very moment.

Think of it like this: You're trying to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, but your eyes are fixated on the weather forecast for tomorrow's rain. You miss the glory right in front of you! For the single Christian woman, today's season is a unique gift for growth, deep service, and building an unshakable identity in Christ. Instead of worrying about who you'll be or where you'll be, focus on Who you are with right now—the Lord. The strength, wisdom, and peace you need for whatever comes next will be delivered precisely when you need it, not a moment sooner, and certainly not a moment too late.

Reflection Prompts

What specific worry about the future (career, relationship status, finances) is currently stealing your focus from today's blessings? How can you intentionally surrender that one thought to God before the end of the day?

Read Philippians 4:6-7 and write down the phrase, "Do not be anxious about anything," on a sticky note. Place it where you will see it multiple times today, using it as a cue to pray instead of worry.

This day is a gift from God; live it fully, faithfully, and free from the weight of tomorrow.
