"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20)
As a single Christian woman waiting for God’s perfect timing, it can sometimes feel like life is moving at a different pace than you expected. You may find yourself longing for companionship, yet around you lies a community rich with blessings that God has tailored just for you. I remember a particularly lonely evening when I felt the weight of singleness so heavily.

I invited a couple of friends over for some tea and simple conversation. What started as a gathering for comfort turned into a beautiful evening filled with laughter, prayer, and support. Each of us shared our personal struggles, hopes, and even our dreams for the future. By the end of the night, I felt revitalized—and more importantly, connected to something greater than myself.
The Blessings of Community
Community is more than just a gathering of people; it’s a divine design where we can experience God’s love in tangible ways. God uses our relationships with one another to bless and encourage us in times of need. Here are a few key blessings we receive from being part of a community:
Support: Friends walking alongside you can offer encouragement when you need it most. Their presence is a reminder that you are not alone.
Shared Wisdom: In community, we have the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives. What someone else has gone through may very well be the insight you need for your own life.
Prayer: When we gather in God’s name, we unlock the power of prayer. Lifting each other up in prayer can create profound changes in our lives and the lives of those around us.
Finding Your Community
Embrace the rich blessings found in your circle, no matter how small it may seem at first. Start reaching out to those around you. Host a small gathering, or simply invite a friend for coffee. Engaging with others can be a stepping stone towards forming deeper relationships. Remember, each connection you build can reflect God’s love and purpose in your life, enriching your experience during this season of singleness.
Ultimately, community is God’s way of reminding us that He is present, not just in our quiet moments but also in our shared joys and struggles. Allow the beauty of your community to fill your heart with hope and connection.
Reflection Prompt
Take a moment to think about your current community. Who has been a blessing in your life, and how can you further nurture those relationships? Perhaps you could reach out to someone you haven’t spoken with in a while, or express gratitude to a friend who has been supportive. Write down a plan for how you might engage more deeply with your community this week.
