"To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."
Ecclesiastes 3:1 gives us a gentle reminder that life is a series of seasons, each intricately designed by God. As single Christian women, we often find ourselves in a particular season of waiting, especially when it comes to marriage. The struggle can be real—what do we do in the in-between moments? How can we trust God's perfect timing when our hearts yearn for companionship?

Understanding the Purpose of Your Season
Imagine a beautiful garden. Each flower blooms in its time. There is a season for planting, a season for nurturing, and finally, a season for harvesting. One day, while tending to my small garden, I noticed how some plants needed more time to grow than others.
Their different rates of growth reminded me of my personal journey in faith and relationships. Just like those plants, we each have unique timelines shaped by God’s design. Sometimes, we look around and see friends or others our age entering relationships, and we wonder, "Why not me?" But every season, even those filled with waiting, has a purpose that contributes to our growth. Reflecting on this in my garden led me to peace, knowing that God has a master plan for me.
Trusting His Timing
Trusting in God’s timing means embracing where we are and being open to the lessons He is teaching us. While you may feel like you’re in a long wilderness, consider these points:
Seek Growth: Use this time to dive deeper into God’s word. Spend time nurturing your relationship with Him. Your faith will strengthen through the seasons of waiting.
Find Contentment: Practice gratitude for where you are. Cherish your singlehood and see it as a gift to explore your passions and serve others.
Prepare for the Future: Use this time to prepare yourself emotionally and spiritually for a future relationship. Think about the qualities you value in a partner and pray for that character in yourself.
It’s okay to feel the longing. It is part of being human. But hold onto the hope that God’s timing is perfect. Just because there is joy in someone else's season doesn’t mean your season lacks value. God is doing a work in you, and He is never late—He is always right on time.
Reflection Prompt: Take a moment to reflect on this season of waiting. What are you learning? How can you intentionally cultivate your relationship with God during this time? Write down three things you are grateful for in your current season.
