The Bold Yes: Lessons from Rebekah's Decision

Casting Your Care on Him

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." - 1 Peter 5:7
Casting Your Care on Him

As a single Christian woman, your "cares" can feel immense. Maybe it's the care of financial independence without a second income, the care of loneliness when the week ends, or the constant care of wondering about your future and God's plan for a partner. These cares can grow into heavy burdens that weigh down your spirit and steal your peace.

Peter tells us to actively "cast" these cares. This isn't just a gentle placement; the Greek word implies a forceful throwing—like tossing a heavy anchor overboard. God doesn't want you to just manage your worry; He wants you to transfer it entirely to Him, because the reason is simple and profound: "for he careth for you."

For example, when you find yourself anxiously scrolling through dating apps or comparing your life trajectory to married friends, you are carrying a burden of control that was never meant for you. Instead, identify that anxiety about the future partner, the career path, or the quiet evening, and literally, in prayer, throw that specific care upon the Lord. Confess that you trust His active and personal concern for your well-being. He sees your need for companionship, your professional struggles, and your desire for a family far better than you do, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). This season is the perfect training ground to demonstrate your absolute dependence on Him.

Reflection Prompts

What is the single biggest "care" or worry you are holding onto right now regarding your singleness or future? How can you specifically rephrase that worry as a prayer of faith and release it to God?

Read Psalm 55:22 and Matthew 6:34 this evening. Meditate on what practical steps you can take tomorrow to live fully in the peace of trusting God's provision.

Trade your heavy anxiety for His profound peace, knowing that the God of the Universe is personally and lovingly caring for every detail of your life.
