"And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.- Ruth 1:16

Today, let's look at Ruth, a woman whose story is filled with loyalty, love, and commitment. As a Moabite woman married into an Israelite family, she faced immense challenges. When tragedy struck and her husband died, Ruth had a choice to make: return to her own family or stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, who was now alone.
Ruth’s decision to stay with Naomi was not merely born out of obligation; it was a profound expression of loyalty and faith. She saw Naomi’s pain and chose to be present in her struggle. This powerful act of commitment speaks volumes to us as single Christian women. It reminds us of the importance of standing by our friends and loved ones, not just in good times but especially in hard times. Ruth's faithfulness to Naomi paved the way for a new beginning and purpose in her own life, leading her to Boaz and ultimately to becoming part of the lineage of Jesus Christ.
As single women today, we may feel uncertain about our future or pressured by societal timelines. But like Ruth, we are called to be faithful, not only in our commitments but in our relationships and our faith. Leaning into those relationships can be a source of strength and comfort.
